3. Why do I need MUTE?
When the Pro-X1 control unit is powered but the camera adapter isn't (i.e. before applying COAX POWER), there is no RF present from the camera adapter. Since the Pro-X1 system converts audio and video signals to FM signals, the lack of these signals results in noise being present on the control unit audio and video outputs. By providing a MUTE function, these outputs are disabled when the camera adapter is not present/on, preventing this noise from being put into other studio equipment, such as the video switcher or audio mixer.

4. Which RF channel controls the MUTE function?
MUTE is controlled by the absence or presence of the camera adapter-to-control unit intercom audio channel. If this 6.5 MHz audio channel is present, the MUTE circuitry turns on the camera video and program audio outputs on the Pro-X1 control unit. If this RF signal is not present, the MUTE circuitry turns OFF the camera video and program audio outputs.
